Berawa Village Managed by CPM Bali

I have never been as frightened as I was last night. Our neighbor was making an unbearable amount of noise, and it was still going at 2 a.m. We went over to knock, hoping he would quiet down. Instead, he verbally attacked us, threatened to grab stones and signs, and called us racists. I only wanted to sleep. When he got more aggressive and wouldn’t leave Manu alone, I screamed for help, louder and louder. Several minutes passed before a security guard arrived. All the other doors stayed locked. Even then the man kept going and threatened to break our noses. The guards did what was needed, but he would not calm down, and there was no way I could sleep there. At 2:30 a.m. they took us to a neighboring hotel with our most important belongings. We’re waiting there now and hoping the man moves out. He was aggressive and completely unreasonable, clearly spoiling for a fight. Berawa Village did nothing to help us, and even refused to refund our money. I can’t recommend staying there. This really should be a matter for the police.

We’re back in the original apartment now, hoping things will be okay, but we still don’t feel safe. The aggressive neighbor was on the property at 9 pm even after the group said they would remove him, so we moved out. We paid for two nights at another hotel ourselves and asked for a refund for the unused days. They refused, and still won’t cover those hotel costs. After we mentioned the police, they offered other apartments in the cpm bali group, but each seemed like a downgrade, with things like a mini pool, weak Wi-Fi, or loud construction and noisy rooms. The trouble started with noise all day from the neighbor. At 2 am we knocked to ask him to keep it down. He yelled, became aggressive, repeatedly said he was going to kill us, grabbed a wet floor sign as a weapon, and picked up stones as if to throw them. There was no security guard at first, and my girlfriend had to shout for help. A guard arrived about 10 minutes later but couldn’t calm him down, only stopped a fight. He thought the man might be on drugs. We were moved to another apartment belonging to the cpm bali group and had to stay there all the next day. Later, staff told us this person had already been moved from one group apartment to another because he caused problems everywhere. They knew he was a problem and still put him next to us. I’m writing this to let people know what happened when there was a security issue. Please be aware.

The staff were friendly and quick to respond, and the facilities had everything I needed. It was peaceful enough to rest or get work done. The place was clean, comfortable, and looked like the photos, with a convenient location close to everything. I’d happily come back if I get the chance. Highly recommended 🙏

It’s unacceptable that a woman had to wait 10-15 minutes after a male guest attacked her. Management only apologized and took no firm action against the attacker. I really hope they address this properly for safety in the future. If something worse had happened, would management have taken responsibility?
