The Ruum Hostel Canggu

The location is close to everything, but the staff are the main reason to stay. They’re awesome and truly care about your well-being. The owner is an amazing person who looks after guests and goes out of his way to make the stay comfortable. Prices are reasonable too, especially for the location. Thank you! :)

I stayed nearly a week and felt really comfortable here as a backpacker. Berawa beach is close enough to walk to, and there was free water, tea, coffee, and Wi-Fi. Each room had four beds and its own bathroom. The staff cleaned every day, so the place was very clean.

The air conditioning was nice, and there was drinking water, but that didn't make up for how run-down the place felt. It's right by a busy road, and there was no hot water. The toilets barely flush, and staff said the main pump was unreliable, so we should put toilet paper in the bin instead. The bin was filthy, had no liner, and made the room smell. They also charge a 200k rph fine for a blocked toilet, even though the toilets still don't flush properly. The place has clearly deteriorated a lot since covid. Disgusting and very unhygienic.

The little kitchen and fridge were handy for making snacks, and the location was great. It's a small, very cute hostel with clean rooms. The owners were fantastic.
