Villa Anna

We spent a month here, and the convenient central location and helpful, responsive staff were about the only real positives. The condition of the villa made the stay deeply unpleasant, especially for the price. Two rooms were effectively unusable: one smelled strongly of mold, damp, and wood fumes, and the air was so uncomfortable we couldn’t stay in it for more than a few minutes. The other sat beneath a roof water pump that made a loud, high-pitched whir every minute. Even noise-canceling headphones didn’t make it possible to sleep. Two people in our group eventually paid for separate hotel rooms because of the smell and noise. The beds and mattresses were badly worn and caused severe back pain. We ended up buying a mattress of our own. Bathrooms were a struggle too, with toilets clogging often, old, poorly maintained plumbing, and almost no shower pressure even though a pump ran constantly. There was visible water damage around the villa, with peeling paint and plaster. The outdoor area looked nice at first, but the pool deck was cracked and lifting, which felt hazardous. The rooftop sun deck had no furniture, so we didn’t want to sit on the bare floor. Temperature control was another problem. The bedroom AC units blew cold air straight at the beds and couldn’t be adjusted properly. Downstairs, the large living area got very hot from sunlight reflecting off the white exterior walls, with no blackout curtains or decent shade. Its one AC unit was too small, and there was no AC in the kitchen, which was unbearable while cooking. Scooters were left out in the open, exposed to the sun and accessible to passersby, with no shaded parking. Being so close to nature also meant plenty of insects, including mosquitoes and big spiders. We found a hand-sized spider inside a bedroom curtain. Gaps under the doors let mosquitoes into the rooms, so sleeping without bites was difficult. One room’s AC was broken for the first two days and leaked water everywhere before anyone fixed it. When we raised the problems with management, they offered no real solutions and told us to contact Airbnb. Airbnb then ignored our complaint. Instead of a relaxing visit, we had sleepless nights, constant hassles, and extra costs. I’d avoid booking this villa.
