Beachfront Villa Nixie and the Sea

The staff were courteous and tried to help with requests, though some of the information they gave wasn't accurate. The Wi-Fi was surprisingly the fastest I had in Bali, which at least gave me something to do. Still, my two nights here were the least pleasant part of my 12 days in Bali. I paid 236 USD and don't think it was worth the cost. Maybe it would have felt fairer if it were cheaper. I wouldn't recommend staying unless you're very prepared or the owner makes improvements. Getting around was a major problem. You can't use gojek or grab to leave, so without your own car you're stuck, and you can't order food either. I had to cancel an appointment I really wanted to attend. Nearby options are a beach shack and Lily by the Sea, also by the beach. For other trips you have to ask manager Mr.Putu to call local cars, which costs even more. The hut itself is cute and cozy, right by the beach with a nice view, but the room needs better care. There's a mangrove forest and a river full of trash nearby, so there are loads of bugs. They swarm around the bedroom lights above the bed, and when you spray them, they land on the bed. Staff could have dealt with that before guests arrived. The bathroom drains badly, too. Rainwater pools there, and after a shower or using the toilet you're standing in water that takes hours to drain. The owner needs to fix it.
