The location is lovely, with a nice beach and relaxing spots like hammocks and beanbags, but the stay overall was poor. Our room was outdated and badly in need of renovation, and the food was average. The place felt focused on profit rather than guests. Even the snorkeling “tour” didn’t include basic gear such as masks or fins, which cost extra to rent and effectively doubled the price. I have serious concerns about the diving setup. The equipment was in poor condition, and the guide, Rita, seemed inexperienced and unqualified. From our conversation, she appeared unfamiliar with the dive sites and local marine life, had very little diving experience, and didn’t know how to deploy an SMB. That felt highly unprofessional and could put guests’ safety at risk, so we chose not to dive here.

The setting is beautiful, with white sand and lots of nearby islands, and there are a few modern comforts, including overnight electricity and WiFi. The staff were kind and always smiling. Still, the resort was a major disappointment and badly neglected. The bungalows are old and poorly maintained. Our room was dated and not very clean, and the bathroom was unpleasant. The mosquito net was filthy with dirt and dead insects, and looked as if it had never been washed. There were flea-ridden dogs all over, even in the restaurant, and one seemed to have a serious skin problem, maybe scabies. The food was bland and repetitive. Behind the resort, piles of rubbish, plastic, cans, and abandoned boats made the squalor shocking. A ruined paradise.

We spent five nights in a villa at Kadidiri paradise and hated having to leave. The villa stood on stilts, with a ladder leading straight into the sea, and the snorkeling and diving were fantastic. The food was great and the staff were attentive, friendly, and kind. There’s a beautiful beach and garden, and you can cross the island through the jungle to a remote beach with the house dog as your guide. It really is paradise.

The food was amazing, the best meals we’d had since arriving in Sulawesi. Una was a wonderful host, and her whole family made us feel at home from the start. Whenever we needed help, they were glad to assist and always did so with a big smile. Kadidiri Paradise is a great place to stay in the Togean Islands.

I was very disappointed with this resort. Right after I made a reservation, they messaged to say food was compulsory and would cost 250,000 per person per day, which was 130% of the room charge. I told them straight away that I wouldn’t pay and they could cancel the reservation, but I couldn’t cancel it myself without still being charged. After several messages back and forth, I felt they were trying to take my money, so I contacted booking.com. They could see that the listing didn’t say the food plan was required before booking, and they cancelled my reservation for free and apologized.
