Toba Retreat Mansion And Villas

The infinity pool has a view that took me back to my time at Lake Como, Italy. It's a beautiful place to stay while visiting Lake Toba. Breakfast was good, with a range of Indonesian dishes as well as the usual bread and jams. Kudos to the manager Ah Hock for the great service and support.

The view is the best part, and I'd consider coming back another time. The villa was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a clean bathroom and air conditioning. The hospitality was decent, and the swimming pools were clean. Breakfast was pretty okay, too. So far, this is the best villa I've stayed at on Samosir Island.

We got there late in the evening after telling them earlier that we'd need an extra bed. We were willing to pay the Rp300k they asked for it, but they wouldn't accept either card or cash. The staff called the person in charge, who insulted my sister over the phone. We also asked whether there was a room with a better view, and the resort wanted ONE MILLION rupiah for the upgrade, even though we'd paid nearly the same amount for the room we booked. The management was really unreasonable. The room was okay, but there was no hot water for showering, and they forgot the complimentary bottled water. The pool was covered in moss, so we didn't dare use it. All in all, I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The staff at Toba Retreat were wonderful, always friendly and attentive, and ready to help with a smile. Special thanks to Ardi, who made sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. His care and attention to detail really made a difference. We stayed in a stunning villa with beautiful rooms, surrounded by a lush, peaceful garden. The swimming pool was a highlight, with a breathtaking view. We had a relaxing, wonderful time at Toba Retreat Mansion & Villas, and would highly recommend it for a getaway.
