The mountain air, impressive scenery, and excitement of sightseeing around Bromo make waking up here feel wonderfully peaceful. From my balcony, I watched the sun set over the mountains, and the view never stops amazing me. Bromo Pasuruan Cottage has grand decor and the feel of an elegant cottage rooted in decades of tradition. Its standards have stayed consistent over the years, while many offerings, including the wellbeing features, have become much more modern.

I didn’t stay overnight, just visited the cafe and walked around. The sekoteng was tasty, served in a stylish cafe setting. I was struck by the funicular elevator climbing the beautiful slope from the lobby to the 8th floor below. The view was incredible, and I’d like to stay here one day.

The bed was very comfortable, and the location works well for a stop on the way to Bromo. But the hotel felt run-down, and the bathroom didn’t look especially clean. The restaurant food was okay, nothing special, and the WiFi was poor and only available at reception. I wouldn’t call this a 4-star hotel, and next time I’d look for somewhere else.

The view is magnificent, and I loved the outdoor elevator. The room was basic, with hot water, a TV, and a decent bed and blankets. Still, it was basically one of the best rooms in the Bromo-Tosari area.
