Hotel O Villa A1

It’s a peaceful, affordable place to stay, near luxury villas, and you can exercise in the morning with mountain views. I gave it 5 stars for that, and for the two cute, friendly cat employees. But check the comments, as many guests have been asked to pay extra after booking cheaply on Agoda and other apps. I booked on Agoda for around 53,000 rupiah and was asked to add around 60,000 rupiah. Since someone had checked in and complained to the owner beforehand, they only added 50,000 rupiah. The owner said they were still processing the promotion with Agoda. The original price was around 130,000 rupiah. The bed and blanket were clean. There’s no fan or air conditioning because Trawas is already cold. The window can’t be opened because the air in Trawas is cold, though the room feels a bit stuffy in the morning. The room has towels, chairs, a table, and a small wardrobe. The bathroom has a sitting toilet and shower, but no roof, and it isn’t very clean. Outside the room there are two exercise machines, a public TV, and a shared hangout area.

I only stayed because it was late and I needed somewhere to rest. The other places were closed, and I hadn’t been ready to book online, so this was the closest option. It’s easy to find on gmaps, but I wouldn’t recommend it. The place felt scary and stuffy, with no air circulation. The room was meant to have AC, but none was installed. The bathroom is narrow, the walls don’t go all the way up, and the lock doesn’t work. There’s no floor mat or basic toiletries like soap. The mattress is still wrapped in plastic under a sheet, and there are lots of mosquitoes. There’s no TV, the only power outlet is near the door, far from the bed, and some walls are moldy. The real place looks very different from the photos. It’s classified as reeddroze, but it falls far short of what I’d expect from reeddroze or oyo.

The app showed me a price of 60, but when I arrived they told me to pay another 60 and said it had to be the normal price. Better to look for somewhere nicer at that price.

The owner was friendly and sat outside to greet people, and the guys were helpful when I parked. My room had a window facing the morning sun, which I was glad about. Still, it felt stuffy since the main door was the only source of ventilation, and there was mold on parts of the walls. With the walls damp, I wouldn't put pillows against them. There wasn't a doormat outside the bathroom. I was charged an extra 30,000 Rupiah for booking through OYO and Agoda, but I didn't mind since the promotion lowered the base room price for the innkeeper.
