The homestay has a cool vibe, and it could be good if they got things sorted out. But my room was bizarrely neglected: no toilet seat, paper or towels; no sheet on the bed; dirt on the bed; a filthy, musty mosquito net; and no fan. The couch, if that's what it was, had no cushions. There were cobwebs and spiders, dusty walls, lamps and floors, broken dirty windows, little lighting, and mold all over the walls and ceilings. It smelled very old and musty, and there was no hot water. The dust and mold actually gave me asthma. If people are paying to stay, the rooms need basic care and essentials like towels and toilet paper. It badly needs repairs and updating.

I had a good bungalow with a private bathroom, shower and western toilet, for 100000. It's a lovely, quiet green setting with access to the lake, good for relaxing. The staff were so friendly, and the food was good with generous portions. I ate most of my meals there.

The garden surroundings are nice, and the traditional Batak rooms have a distinctive look, though they're quite dark. My stay itself wasn't good: the room was filthy, with cobwebs, a large dead spider by the sink, and cockroaches, including one crawling up my leg. I can't say much about the service because I left after one night instead of the three planned and changed locations for those reasons.

The garden was beautiful, and they even make juice from its fruit trees. We rented motorbikes at the homestay, which we'd really recommend for exploring Tuktuk and Samosir island. They were very affordable for the quality. Staff were super helpful, and the restaurant served tasty fresh food, both local and a bit European. We stayed in two spacious rooms with a very cool design. A few things need maintenance, but nothing too serious. We really enjoyed the few nights we spent here.

The room mattresses and mosquito nets have clearly been around a while and should be replaced. Apart from that, it's well located with a friendly atmosphere, helpful staff, and a restaurant serving decent food at very fair prices.
