Buda Cottage Ubud

I liked staying here, but road construction made it very hard to get a gojek most of the time, and the wait was long. I left and was given a refund, but the owner handed the money back with his left hand. That felt seriously disrespectful to me. Because of that rudeness alone, I won't return or recommend the place to anyone I know.

The pool is amazing, and the free breakfast was SO good. The nature and quiet were lovely, and Buda and everyone working there were just the best. After staying at two other hotels, I was so glad Buda could fit me in again for the rest of my trip. Nothing compared. It really felt like a home away from home. 🥹🩵

The breakfast was tasty, the pool was nice, and the rooms were kept tidy and reasonably clean each day. I stayed for two weeks and was very comfortable. There were a few little encounters with insects and frogs, but that's part of being in the jungle and Ubud life. Buda was really helpful and made sure guests were comfortable. It's about a 10-15 minute scooter ride to the centre depending on traffic, and being away from the noise made it easy to relax. Good value if you're after a calm place with rice terrace views and jungle vibes, a little outside the centre.

The room was clean and very chill, and I hardly heard any traffic. The staff were always welcoming, though I don't know their names, and the owner was helpful too, with lots of suggestions for places to go. It's a nice stay if you like nature and a relaxed atmosphere. Just be aware it's so dark at night that I could barely see the path to my room. Still, a nice place overall 🥰✨
