Gayatri Ubud

The people made our stay feel so personal. The staff were warm, attentive, and thoughtful from the start, and made us feel like family. Eka especially had a calming presence that made everything easy and comfortable. She arranged excursions and spa treatments at the resort, and shared local traditions and culture with us. We happened to be there for a beautiful, important celebration honoring the goddess of knowledge, followed by a purification ritual. Eka helped us understand what was happening, and that made the trip feel like a real cultural experience as well as a resort stay. Thanks too to Rana, our wonderful driver, and Budi, our yoga instructor, who gave attentive, detailed adjustments that helped me deepen my practice. We came for a girls’ trip with my mom and sister, our first time at Uma Kalai, and it exceeded what we expected. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, full of lush nature, and feel peaceful, private, and secluded. The pool view over the landscape to the mountains was breathtaking, and we could have sat there soaking it in forever. Each room had its own character. My sister and I were in the Sky Room, with a big terrace and a balcony breakfast nook that became our favorite spot. My mom’s Wind Room had a private heated pool and steam room. Breakfast could be served in the common area or brought to the room, and we loved the fresh fruit they left for us. The team even brought extra of the fruit we liked most. The food was beautifully presented and thoughtfully made. We’re sad to leave, but feel relaxed, inspired, and grateful. Uma Kalai gave us a deeper way to experience Bali, and we can’t wait to return.

Our favorite place we’ve stayed in Ubud, and we’ll definitely return. We felt cared for from arrival to departure, especially thanks to the warm, welcoming and attentive staff. The Jala Suite looked out over the mountains, and we loved the room, breakfast, massages, and gym too. Every staff member was lovely and helped make the stay perfect 🙏

That sunset view across the rice fields, with a drink in hand, was one of the best holiday moments I’ve ever had. I felt like a queen here and can’t wait to come back. The team looked after me from the moment I arrived, especially Jun, Ade, Namii, and Wayan, the driver who showed me around Ubud and shared his local knowledge and humor. I enjoyed a relaxing spa massage, and the breakfasts and dinners were delicious, especially the Indonesian dishes. If you’re considering Uma Kalai, just book it!

We chose Uma Kalai after looking at several Ubud hotels and resorts, and it turned out to be the perfect place for our Bali honeymoon. The peaceful setting is close enough to Ubud’s main attractions to explore easily, then return to a quiet, intimate retreat. There was a thoughtful range of daily and weekly activities, including guided walks, massages, and cooking classes, which helped us connect with local culture. The villa was spacious, beautifully designed, and well equipped. Its calm atmosphere and quality amenities made it feel like our own private sanctuary. The staff made the stay feel personal and welcoming. They were attentive, anticipated what we needed, and made us feel at home. The service was the best we’ve experienced, and made our honeymoon feel especially easy and memorable. Thanks to Eka, Jun, Ayu, Ade, Purnamii, and everyone else who looked after us so kindly. We’ll stay here again whenever we return to Ubud.
