Ubad Retreat

It’s hard to give this place only five stars. It’s a wonderful place for anyone who wants to slow down, with a thoughtful location that lets you connect with nature without giving up comfort, good organization, or cleanliness. The local staff were so helpful and took great care of us, even though I don’t speak English very well. There were both Western and Balinese breakfast options, plus lunch and dinner on site. Grateful to everyone involved.

The place was dirty, the water ran slowly, and the pool was full of algae, making it warm and like still water. Bugs and ants were all over the toilet, and the hallway looked scary at night. The bed literally had bugs and smelled bad. There was basically no light. Don’t ever go to this villa. It deserves a -5 rating.

The manager, Sree, and all the staff were incredibly kind and caring, and we felt like part of their family after just a few days. The atmosphere at Ubud Retreat was peaceful and positive, and it felt like home. It wasn’t just somewhere to sleep, it was a place where my heart felt comfortable. The environment, cleanliness, and hospitality were all perfect. We’d love to return someday ❤️

The staff were warm and easy to approach, and the retreat is surrounded by nature, so it’s a peaceful escape from the city. Still, the room had ants and lizards, and the sheets and towels were visibly stained. Some basic items, including the hand soap, shampoo, and shower gel, smelled unpleasant, and hygiene standards could be better. The property also needs more regular upkeep. The booking photos didn’t fully match the actual facilities, and breakfast was bland with little variety. Stay here only if you love nature.
