OYO 929 Uluwatu Suites

The staff were kind and helped carry my suitcase up three flights of stairs, which is why I'm giving two stars. The room was unclean, with no toilet paper or soap. Late at night, when I pulled back the blanket, I found sand from someone else's feet and a couple of their belongings. It's far from nearly everything. The balcony looks out at garbage in the bushes, and there's a lot of road noise. I don't recommend staying here.

The hotel was dirty and the service was awful. Nobody was at reception, so I waited around 30-40 minutes before someone showed up. The furniture was broken, the sheets were very cheap and dirty, the internet was terrible, and there were water stains on the ceiling. Mold on the wall had been painted over. They cancelled my booking when I was already there with my bags. I tried contacting the manager on WhatsApp using the details the staff had given me, but nobody answered. The whole hotel seemed empty, and they still didn't give me a room to check in, so I left. Why advertise this place if it's unavailable and not ready for guests? Shame.

I like having a rooftop, and here it feels like my own living room up there, with a pool right outside my window. I’m staying during the pandemic, so it’s very quiet, and the place feels like mine. I love it, there’s something special about it. The bathroom smell is the one letdown, but I don’t spend much time in there.

The shower wasn’t working when I visited, so I had to go upstairs to bathe. Otherwise, the room I got was really huge and the air conditioning worked properly. You can request an extra bed for an additional charge. It’s not too far from the center of Uluwatu, and it seems like a good choice for a group of backpackers looking for a decent room.
