First time staying in this area, and I was surprised by how touristy it is. There are a few fancier places to eat, including Italian, Mexican, and Thai restaurants, plus a big ice cream bar called Gelato. My room was okay, though it looked quite outdated. Breakfast was pricey, but the crew were pretty friendly.

The coffee shop out front is good for breakfast and drinks. I especially like the Americano, it tastes really nice. The staff are friendly and helpful, can share some local knowledge if you need it, and speak English too, which is good. I rented a car here at a very reasonable rate, cheaper than anywhere else we could find. They also rent scooters, though I don’t know the price. I’d expect them to be cheaper than most places nearby.

We had a really nice stay. There’s a water dispenser on every floor, which I liked most. The room was clean, the Wi-Fi was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The owner was very nice too. The street has plenty of good places to eat, drink, and relax, and breakfast was good.

I rented a scooter here for 13 days and returned it five hours late. The boss charged me for an extra half day, even though I hadn’t been told about that fee when I rented it. He also said I shouldn’t ride outside Yogyakarta, but when I told him I planned to go out of town, he hadn’t said no. It’s not a lot of money, but the whole thing made me really uncomfortable. I’ve rented scooters at other shops and haven’t had this happen. Tourists shouldn’t be treated like one-time customers, especially since we can leave reviews here.
