Bobobox Pods Malioboro

From the street it looks like a small entrance, but inside Bobobox Malioboro has 70 pods, and they’re surprisingly roomy. Its spot near Malioboro Street is great, especially for seeing the area lit up at night. Check-in and the stay went smoothly, thanks to the friendly, easygoing staff. The place was clean, comfortable, and a distinctive option in central Yogyakarta. The rooftop was being renovated during my visit, which was disappointing, and the several high steps at the entrance make access difficult for people with disabilities.

The pods look small from outside, but they’re actually massive, and the whole place is very, very quiet, which is a big plus for a capsule stay. Everything runs through online systems, so it’s easy for travelers to use. The location right in busy malioboro also gives a direct view of the street.

A handy place to stop before checking in to your hotel, particularly if you get into Yogya at dawn.

We left some things behind in the pod by accident, and the staff carefully packed them in a box so we could get them back through a delivery service. They were incredibly accommodating and friendly throughout. The place was clean and in a very strategic location. I had a wonderful stay, and the service was exceptional.
