We could easily get to the shops, food stalls, and lively center of Yogyakarta, since Malioboro is only minutes away. The location was hard to beat, and the staff were always warm, friendly, and helpful. We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a bright, spacious deluxe room that was very comfortable, a lovely start to our trip. We’d happily return for the room, service, and location.

Malioboro Street is only minutes away, so it was easy to browse shops and food stalls and take in the culture in central Yogyakarta. I also loved that the busy road became vehicle-free after 6 pm. Our four-night stay was great, and the staff were consistently warm and helpful. The room was a good size, clean bedsheets, a functional setup, and a nice bathroom, although the bathroom lighting was a little dim. I understand the hotel’s sustainability measures. Breakfast was good, with different offerings each day. Great service and a location we’d gladly return to.

We spent three nights here. The location was a real plus, with plenty of shops and restaurants right nearby and only a short walk to the Main Street. Staff were polite and helpful, and the pool area was nice, though it was starting to look a little worn. The rooms could use updating too. They were reasonably clean, but felt old and scruffy, and the sheets looked quite grey rather than white.

When we arrived in the room, we noticed stains on the bedding. We asked to have the sheets changed, and the staff were very accommodating about it. I’ve since learned about Ibis’ efforts to be more sustainable, which is helpful context. The staff were really helpful throughout, and we had a great stay.
