Indies Heritage Hotel Prawirotaman Yogyakarta

The staff were really helpful and friendly, and breakfast had some tasty choices. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the air conditioning took a while to cool down, then got very cold. Wi-Fi wasn’t great. It’s an oldie but a goodie, and I’d recommend it.

I usually don’t write bad reviews, but mould here made me feel unwell. The restaurant was empty, yet it took two hours and we still left without any food. Then 700k IDR went missing from my room, apparently stolen by staff. We cut the trip short and moved to a hotel around the corner.

The room smelled strongly of cat urine, enough to dry out my throat, and the bathroom had a fishy smell. There were brown stains on the bed, and a cigarette pack sat outside our window. My family paid 1.4 million IDR because it was New Year, which felt outrageous for a half-empty budget hotel. I later saw the price listed as 375k IDR on Google Maps.

I didn’t enjoy the stay. The building must have looked impressive when it first opened, but now it seems poorly maintained, and the wardrobe was dusty. The duco-finished wooden furniture looks nice, though it’s hard to maintain and the wear shows. There was no soap. Breakfast was a letdown, with few choices and many things running out quickly. They charged for kids too, but there wasn’t much for them to eat.
