The family room was really clean and looked just like the listing photos. We had two queen beds and a bathroom in the room. Malioboro is about 500 meters away, close enough that it feels like a short walk. The room is meant for four, but the fan upstairs is pretty small for a family room in Yogyakarta's heat. A larger one would suit the space better. Our check-in was listed as 2:00, and we arrived right around then, about 2:01. The room still wasn't ready and was being cleaned, even though check-out is at noon, if I remember right. We waited in the shared room until around 2:20 PM, and the video shows how long the cleaning took. It was a tiring wait in the heat. It'd help if the room schedule matched the app so guests don't have to sit around so long. 🙏🏻 Still, the owner, surroundings, cleanliness, and price were all very good. A solid budget option. We booked three months ahead and were meant to have two rooms, but on arrival we were given only one, and it wasn't the room we had reserved. The water also stopped working at times. The service felt rude and unfriendly. Nobody greeted us, and the person we dealt with didn't seem trustworthy, despite what had been said when we first booked.

The price is very affordable, and the location is handy for vehicle rentals, the station, and the Malioboro area. There's a shared terrace with a TV, water dispenser, and free coffee, sugar, and tea. You can also borrow a stove from the manager, and wait there before check-in or after check-out if your bus or train is later. The room works for a small group or family, and the service was fairly friendly. There's only a fan and no AC, so it gets hot, but it's enough for a short rest during a trip.

We found the rooms clean, and Lempuyangan Station is nearby. The owner is kind and friendly too. A homestay I'd happily recommend for a Yogyakarta holiday.
