The room was large, and so was the bathroom. There was hot water and air conditioning, and they cleaned whenever I asked. I come back to this hotel each time I stay in Yogya. Some of the comments about cleanliness and other quality issues are fair. Still, for the price it’s hard to beat if you’re not looking for top quality.
You can hear noise from the hallway and other rooms. The water dispenser might be free, but it was so filthy, with cigarette butts and used cups, that I never got water from it. Whenever I passed the lobby, I held my breath. The staff were hanging out, playing cards and smoking there. The room, toilet, and sheets were disgusting and filthy. It’s cheap, but that’s no excuse for being dirty. This place shouldn’t be listed as a hotel.
The service was very good, and the staff were really friendly. Breakfast was limited to a fried rice menu for just 10 thousand. The mattress was decent, and the bathroom came with complete equipment, but cleanliness needs work in both the bedroom and bathroom. For a backpacker’s budget, staying here is quite good.
The sheets were clean, but the pillows and duvets underneath were dirty and mouldy enough for it to show through within hours. One towel couldn’t be used, and the bathroom floor wasn’t fit for bare feet. The dirt didn’t look like it had built up over a week, more like the place hadn’t been cleaned for years. The staff were nice and friendly, which earns an extra star, but they need to do a lot better.
The windows had no screens, so mosquitoes were a problem. Towels looked like they’d come from a mechanic’s bathroom, and the listing’s claim of a pool was just a lie. Even the basics, like cleaning the rooms between guests, weren’t being done, which doesn’t seem like too much to ask. We were taken to two rooms because the first one was too gross. There was candy stuck to the floor and so many stains on the sheets. The toilet looked like it had never been scrubbed, and after just one evening walking around the room, my feet were black. If this were the cheapest room in town, I might cut them some slack, but there are around 25 other rooms in town for half the price. I can’t imagine them being any more disgusting.
