There was a loud noise from the handyman the next day. The room walls were moldy, which could put guests at risk of respiratory problems like bronchitis, and although the bathroom looked clean, it smelled like urine. I hope they improve the cleanliness.

The rooms are clean, which is the main thing. The facilities are decent and it’s very affordable. It’s tucked down an alley but still fairly close to the main road, and near UGM and UNY.

I’d already paid for a stay described as 4 nights and 3 nights, and wanted to move, but felt stuck with the booking. The accommodation was awful and the service painfully slow. The room barely deserved to be called a hotel room. The mattress was very old, and the sheets and blanket were worn, with some holes from tears and cigarette burns left by previous guests. The pillows were so thin I had to stack two just to make them a little comfortable. The TV was very basic. The toilet was in terrible shape and dirty, like it hadn’t been cleaned often, and the toilet seat was filthy too. The water was completely shut off on the second and third days. It was hard to clean up, and since I hadn’t washed at all, I had to leave the room to ask for water. I only got one towel, and had to ask for that as well. Very bad overall.

The small waiting room is crowded with ethnic items, and there are chairs, tables, and ashtrays outside the rooms. The atmosphere is comfortable, though the location is down a small road. Rooms are small but clean and tidy, the bed is good, and the bathroom is clean. Hot air flows smoothly, and there’s a sink. Staff are kind and helpful, smoking isn’t allowed in the rooms, and rooms are cleaned every two days. I’d give it four stars overall. With more space, it could be a five-star guest house.
