I only gave two stars because the beds were okay and there was warm water and safety boxes. I couldn’t sleep, though. Everyone shares one large room of sleep boxes with no soundproofing, so the room echoes and even small noises carry. Some guests kept talking and making noise past midnight without considering other people. I got about four hours of sleep, then booked somewhere else for the next night. Malioboro Street is very busy and difficult to walk along, and there are no scooter spaces beside the hostel, so I had to park about 150 meters away.

The seating area faces the famous Malioboro street sign, which is great if you like people-watching. The Wi-Fi is good, the toilet is clean, and the staff are super helpful. The downside is that there’s no AC inside the bunk. It relies on the air conditioning in the common area outside. That should be okay if you’re not spending much time in the room, since you’re in Jogja to explore anyway. I love this place and will definitely come back to this sleepbox.
