The man at reception was understanding and tried to help, but there wasn’t much he could do about the conditions. The dorm was a mess and the toilets were extremely unhygienic. The AC was set to 16 with no way to make the room warmer, even though there were only three of us. The lights stayed on all night, and other guests were inconsiderate, making phone calls in the dorm at 4 am and playing Instagram reels loudly at 7 am. It was a nightmare and ruined my stay in Yogya. I checked in at 9 pm and left at 7 the next morning, losing the cost of the other three nights on my four-night booking. It was non-refundable under the Agoda and hostel policies, which wasn’t the management’s fault. Don’t come here.

The beds were comfortable, and the price was very competitive, so I’d book again. But the sheets were dirty, there’s no sink so you have to brush your teeth in the shower, and the receptionist is usually away and doesn’t speak English. The hotel could make the stay much more comfortable with real curtains. It’d be a small investment.

For a really tight budget, it’s worth trying, though it’s not especially nice. The place was very clean, and the prices are cheap. But climbing up to the top bunk was really hard, the air conditioner didn’t cool the room, and the see-through curtains offered almost no privacy.

The host was rude, and the place was dirty, including the sheets. There was no towel, soap, or WiFi, and no sink for shaving or washing my face.
