The Lavana Valvilla

The room layout is good, but it seems the villa hasn’t been maintained very well. A lot of the wallpaper is peeling, and when I opened the cupboard with the dishes, I found used liquor bottles and could still smell alcohol. There were no clothes hangers or tissues, and one of the two electricity tokens kept beeping even though they said only one was in use. The bathroom? No, keep factual bathroom omitted. The pool water was dirty and wasn’t circulating, so it felt more like a puddle. There were no floaties, although the price list said they were included. The Wi-Fi never worked from the start of my stay until checkout. I told the person caring for the villa, and he asked me to wait, but nothing was fixed. I didn’t meet the owner, only the guard, so I don’t know whether the owner is aware of these issues. The guard was kind enough to come over when I asked about the Wi-Fi, but there was no follow-up before I checked out. I hope these things can be improved.

It’s a bit of a hidden gem in a housing complex, since not many people seem to know about the villa. The pool comes with floaties and beanbags, and the kitchen has cutlery, a microwave, drinking water, a fridge, and a dining table with chairs. In the room there’s a sofa and smart TV. The bathroom has a water heater, hairdryer, shampoo, soap, and towels. There’s no wardrobe or place to hang clothes, though, and the big mirror is in the toilet. There’s a good range of kitchen things here, plates, glasses, bowls, dish soap, a refrigerator, microwave, dispenser, and water gallon. Maybe they could add a stove next time, hehe. The location is convenient for getting into the city, though the terrace is quite dim at night. The bed is really only suitable for two people, so having a child along made sleeping less comfortable, but the sofa helped. The bathroom lock is a little tricky too, you have to pull the door before locking it. For check-in and checkout, go to the house in front before entering the alley near the mosque. I was confused at first, but luckily I met the owner.

The bedroom is spacious and the bathroom was clean, and there’s a small but clean pool. It’s a comfortable villa in the city center, close to lots of restaurants and tourist spots in Jogja. There’s also a little kitchen with a fridge, dispenser, and microwave, though no stove. Breakfast came through Agoda, not the owner, and the deposit was 200 thousand. For what you get, it feels really worth it.
