How did I wait so long to come here when I live in Bangunjiwo? It’s going on my list of favorite places to relax. The scenery, atmosphere, and food come together so nicely. Great for a first date or a family outing. That chocolate mousse has me wanting to come back for more!

The bakwan and homemade noodles were our favorites, we really loved them. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the food in Yogyakarta was very good. It brought back a feeling of Ubud 15 years ago, peaceful, warm, and authentic. Well worth a visit.

We were staying up the road at Villa Sare and came across the restaurant at Villa Bluesteps while looking for dinner. It turned out to be a fantastic find. The garden is charming and full of greenery, with a calm, welcoming feel that makes it a lovely place to eat under the stars. There’s a good range on the menu, including decent vegetarian choices. The dishes we tried were flavorful and nicely prepared, mixing local tastes with international touches. The relaxed setting and good food made for a really enjoyable evening. I’d recommend stopping at Villa Bluesteps if you’re nearby or passing through.
