We won’t return. The name “Villa” was misleading: it was two separate, medium-sized rooms on the ground and first floors, each with an en-suite bathroom. The bright, shiny photos looked like they must have been taken ten years ago, when the place was new. It could be cozy, but the whole area felt old and poorly maintained. The bathrooms were dirty, with old, grimy fixtures. There was a large stain on the bathroom ceiling, and water, possibly fresh, leaked from the toilet and ran across the floor to the shower. One outlet beside the bed didn’t work. The outside kitchen looked very dirty, and I don’t know when it had last been cleaned. Leaves were left in the pool before we arrived. We didn’t see other guests, so it didn’t seem like there was too much to do, yet after we left the breakfast table and came back two hours later, our dishes were still there. The staff should do more during the day to keep the place from looking so run down. During a thunderstorm, the power went out. We waited, assuming it was a general outage, but it turned out the prepaid electricity credit had run out. That wasted a lot of time. At checkout, they only accepted cash, with no credit card or QRIS option. The staff tried to help, but we couldn’t get any cashless payment to work.

The rooms were relatively clean, the beds comfortable, and the bathrooms spacious. We didn’t use the outdoor kitchen by the pool. Staff were very friendly and tried their best to speak English. They even played cards with the kids so we could enjoy a beer in peace. It’s good value for money, and I’d return. A bit of updating would help, especially fixing the broken locks and electrical sockets.

Such a lovely villa in town, with green views and a nice swimming pool. The prices are reasonable and I’d really recommend it 🥰

We weren’t fully happy with the stay. We booked seven nights around Christmas and New Year in December 2024 through Agoda and paid almost 17 million IDR, over 1000 EUR. We moved elsewhere for the final two nights so we could enjoy New Year as expected, since this villa didn’t meet that expectation. My family took over the villa, but they also thought it was overpriced. There were real positives: the pool was nice and clean, the staff were friendly, the rooms spacious with tasteful furniture, the AC worked very well, and the beds were very comfortable. It’s in the tourist area of Prawirotaman, near many good restaurants, and the mosques around weren’t too loud. But the fridge was tiny and didn’t cool properly, not even a cake, let alone drinks. We had to ask the front office to use their fridge, which thankfully chilled our beers. The toilet water jet didn’t work. I understand the Japanese no-touch style, but they should also install a regular water jet beside the toilet, which is simpler, cheaper, and works for local and Southeast Asian guests. The kitchen was often dirty and poorly equipped. Staff didn’t clear the breakfast table promptly, and sometimes it was still dirty when we returned hours later. The floor seemed not to be swept or mopped properly, and there were only basic utensils. At over 2 million a night, even during high season, we expected better service for the price. The kitchen had just one very small bin for four people, and it wasn’t emptied regularly. They should provide a larger bin or take the trash out three or four times a day. There were a lot of cats, and we smelled cat urine on the bottom of our beer box. I’m not a cat fan and prefer dogs, but I’m not making that up just to criticize. None of us would urinate in the kitchen, and I don’t think the staff would either, so it seemed like an animal. The many trees were nice, but also meant lots of mosquitoes. Parking was a real challenge because the gate and parking area were very small. Some small trees blocking the way could be cut back to make it easier to get in and out. The access streets were narrow too, and GrabCar drivers refused to come further, dropping us on the main road. We checked the low season rate and it was less than half of what we paid. I’d recommend the place at 900k-1200k a night, or at most 1400k in high season, but 2,200k for this level of service seems very unlikely to be worth it. My suggestions are to upgrade the fridge, add proper bins and toilet water jets, improve staff service, and sterilize the cats.

The staff were really friendly, the villa was nice, and the rooms were clean. Breakfast was delicious too.
