The staff made us feel so welcome, and breakfast was delicious. My family and I stayed overnight, and the place was fantastic. The rooms were lovely, and the beds were really comfortable. We'll definitely return and recommend it to everyone.

Our daughter was treated like a princess for her 21st birthday, and she has additional needs. This was our second visit, but our first overnight stay. We had scones with coffee and tea while waiting for the rest of the party, then pre-dinner drinks by the fire. Dinner was very good, and afterward we stayed in the bar area drinking until bedtime. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and breakfast was very good. I had the full Irish and melon, but was too full for breakfast scones. Our daughter had pancakes with lots of fruit and honey. She could get upstairs with help, but had to come down on her bottom, so bear that in mind if stairs are difficult. We enjoyed the experience immensely.

We had a lovely family dinner during our holiday, with great food and service. The lounge by the fire was cozy for pre-dinner drinks, and our table was nicely set up. Our food arrived as we sat down and sipped our wine. There was a great bread selection to start, and I'd definitely recommend the lamb, scallops, and duck liver patte.

The faux-castle decor could have been kitschy, but somehow it works and makes the restaurant cozy and comfortable. I would return for the food, which was really good overall, though a few details need attention. My turbot fillet was huge and beautifully cooked, while my dining companions' dishes were tasty but rather small, especially the sea trout. The vegetables were plentiful and mostly tasty, but the red cabbage was colorful and bland, adding little beyond its color. The dauphinoise were yummy, though the young potatoes were a bit wet. We started with welcoming, familiar service and pre-dinner drinks in a comfy lounge, but service slipped after that. At least four different people looked after our table that night, with mixed results. It would have been nice for a staff member to make sure we got a thank-you and goodbye at the end. Prices seemed reasonable for the food quality, but it still wasn't a cheap night out. Better service and a few tweaks would help the place shine.

We tried dinner here for the first time tonight, and the welcome, pre-dinner drink, and meal were all incredible. Every dish at the table was good. It was such a great experience, and we'll definitely come back. I'd highly recommend it.
