Breffni Arms Hotel

The Breffni arms is easy to find and makes a handy base for walking, cycling, and fishing, which is my sport. There are plenty of local points of interest, with lovely views across the valleys and lakes. I come here every year and always find the atmosphere great, the food brilliant, and the prices very reasonable. The management and staff are second to none. Definitely worth putting on the itinerary when visiting Ireland.

The brownie was probably the nicest dessert I’ve ever had. My sister and I stopped at the Breffini Arms for lunch while visiting a friend in Cavan, having come down from Dublin. It’s a lovely little hotel, with really friendly staff, superb service, and delicious food. I’d happily recommend it to anyone passing through for a bite, and I’ll definitely come back.

We had a main course and dessert, and both were lovely, with decent portions and no wait after ordering. We stopped for lunch yesterday after an appointment at a local business in Arvagh. The place was busy, I think there may have been a funeral on, but there were plenty of staff around. The reception staff were lovely too. We didn’t stay at the hotel, so I can’t comment on the rooms, but we’d pop in for a bite again when we’re in the area.

The staff were really friendly, and the room had everything we needed, even a hairdryer and iron. We stayed for two nights and couldn’t fault the place. The food was great.
