Tommy, the proprietor, was so welcoming and entertaining, and especially kind and good with the children. The place has a friendly, inviting feel, with spacious, clean rooms. Great value and a relaxing atmosphere. I’d highly recommend it.

Athlone was charming and different, with an interesting past. I’m glad I went beyond the usual path. The reviews are right about Tommy being a great guy. I met some friendly locals too, and I’ve never been in a pub that felt more like home.

You can get to the center of town, buses, and trains easily from here. Galway is less than an hour away, and Dublin takes a little longer. There are lovely views just down the road. The owner and operator was welcoming, friendly, and as accommodating as anyone could be. It’s a wonderful place in the heart of Ireland if you’re after a home-away-from-home feel, rustic amenities, and a chance to chat with locals. I’ll be back soon.

The owner, Tom, is a true gentleman and knows a lot about the town and nearby areas. It’s a lovely spot, with comfortable, spacious rooms and wonderful food and drink.

We had a night in this lovely, cozy place and could really relax. The rooms were immaculate, and breakfast the next day was amazing, with plenty of everything. Nothing seemed like a bother. Tom, the owner, is genuinely nice, accommodating, and friendly. Highly recommend, and we’ll definitely come back.
