Downhill Inn

Karl and the staff were so friendly and helpful, and gave us a top-class customer experience during our lovely stay at the Downhill Inn. The bedroom was clean, with plenty of towels and a very comfortable bed. I had the fish both nights, and it was fresh and delicious. I’d recommend the calamari starter too. Breakfast had a good choice and quick service, and there’s lots of parking. I’ll be back 😀 Thanks.

Our two rooms both had showers that didn’t work properly, and nothing was done about it. The breakfast was very basic, and some mornings there was barely anything. The butter was off, the cereal stale, and the coffee undrinkable. When we raised this, we were told it seemed like we were trying to negotiate the price of our stay. We expected basic standards and were very disappointed.

A really comfortable stay, with great food and drinks. The rooms, breakfast, and staff behaviour were all perfect. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful spot within a short walk of town.

There’s a lovely relaxed feel around the hotel, and all the staff were genuinely friendly. Check-in and check-out were seamless. The downside was the very weak WiFi in our room, which wouldn’t suit anyone who relies heavily on digital devices.
