Kilcoolys Country House Hotel

I gave service a two because Joan was rude and kept trying to rush me when I went in on Wednesday. I asked if I could speak to John about something urgent, and she said he wasn’t there, which was fine. But when I returned, she snapped, “I told you John’s not here,” then said, “Yes, I am watching you,” as she puts it. I don’t know what I’ve done to her. One day I may stop going into kilcoolys for good. Maybe I did something to her in a past life, or maybe she’s just an awful person.

We planned to stay five days and ended up staying eight. It was sad to leave Ballybunion, a beautiful place, and this friendly family-run Country House Hotel, restaurant, and bar. Nothing was too much trouble, the rooms were smashing, and the showers were a blast. The food was top class, the Guinness was great, and there was some traditional Irish music. Thanks, Joan and John.

Joan was kind and accommodating, and the hotel is in a great spot beside the amusements and beaches. The rooms are gorgeous and feel very luxurious, with a big comfy bed and plenty of hot water for a lovely bath.

The pub had a great vibe, and the staff and food were immaculate. We had an amazing weekend stay at Kilcoolys. I’ve stayed here before, and it’s only a short walk to the beautiful beach. I’ll definitely be back.
