I’m sorry I can’t rate our stay higher. Brian was a great guy and did a lot to make things pleasant, sharing plenty of tips and even booking a restaurant for us. The room was huge, but not very clean: the bathroom bin still had toiletries from previous guests, the floor was dirty, and the carpet smelled of dog. The card machine wasn’t working, so we had to go to the nearest ATM. Breakfast was okay, though anyone expecting a cooked Irish breakfast will be disappointed. Earlier review photos are a bit misleading. If cleanliness isn’t a big concern for you, the location is good and there’s parking right in front of the building.

The continental breakfast was fine. We had the downstairs King room, which was large with a very comfortable bed, but the place really needs a deep clean. It felt as though the sheets had been changed since the previous guests, and little else.

The location is good, close to both the beach and town centre, but we were quite disappointed. The luxury apartment was dirty when we arrived, with the previous guests’ rubbish on the counters, facial hairs in the sink, and wet towels in the bathroom. Breakfast wasn’t up to much.

The owner was a friendly, accommodating man who made sure I had what I needed, including food suited to my vegetarian diet. I had no complaints and only wished I could stay longer. I was there for one night and found the house beautiful, spotless, and comfortable, with a substantial breakfast. St Columbus house is a perfect place to stay when visiting Donegal, especially the Inishowen peninsula.

Brian was brilliant and arranged a self-catering B&B for us at the last minute. He was helpful with touring locations and a great chap all round. The place was clean and well located, with Buncrana Town about a three-minute walk away and Buncrana beach around 20 minutes on foot. A great spot to spend quality time in Donegal.
