Hegarty's restaurant has new management, and we came back for a family lunch of four. The fish specials from the board, warm chicken and bacon salad, fish chowder and desserts were all excellent and nicely presented. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We hadn’t been in a long time, but we’ll recommend it to others and come back ourselves. Thank you!

The room was simple, but it had everything I needed and was tremendous value for money. It’s a really nice place to stay, and I’d definitely recommend it.

What a beautiful little village. The young woman at the bar was so friendly and chatty when we stopped for a drink the night before, and made us feel completely comfortable. The next day, we were picking up our friend who was staying there. My husband had put his iPhone on the outside windowsill, and only noticed it was missing as we were leaving Killybegs for Donegal town. We called, and she said it had been handed in. When we asked if we could send money for postage to the north, she offered to take it to the Lidl car park in Donegal and have us wait there for 45 minutes while she brought it over. I couldn’t believe that kindness. We tried to pay the driver, but they wouldn’t take anything. We’ll remember this for a long time, and it’ll be a story about the good people of Donegal.

The dining room is separate from the pub and really nicely decorated, and the staff are lovely. We had a simple but tasty lunch, with generous portions of good quality food. The pints and chips with their clearly homemade garlic mayo were lovely and set us up for the rest of the day. I’ve been here before and it won’t be my last visit.
