Midlands Park Hotel

Angelika sorted out my restaurant reservation issue straight away, and I'm very grateful for her help. She's absolutely the right person for the job. The pool was ok, and the food was delicious, especially the steak. Breakfast was very good too. The hotel's interiors are beautiful, and the rooms were clean, tidy and luxurious. Service was excellent. Everything felt top class, and I'd definitely come back.

The room had everything I needed, including the desk fan I'd asked for, and it was spacious. The shared areas were comfortable, with nice ambient lighting. Parking in the multi-storey car park was included in the online hotel deal. I stayed at The Midlands Hotel for one night recently. A few days before arriving, I called to ask whether early check-in might be possible, and it was, which worked out perfectly. Dinner was gorgeous, and the restaurant staff were welcoming and attentive. I'd highly recommend it for a break away.

Breakfast had a huge range of choices, from freshly cooked food to cold items like cheese, ham and salads. The hotel is large, but it was spotless throughout, and the beds and clean linens were very comfortable. The shower had great pressure and properly hot water. I stayed for two nights and was really impressed. The event venue is amazing, and I can see why they host so many lovely weddings. It's an important hotel in the area with great standards, and I'd highly recommend it for an event or a pleasant stay.

My main issue was figuring out the parking. There's a public car park as well as a hotel car park, but reception seemed to talk more about the private paid one than their own. I had to ask whether that was the hotel's car park. A barrier was blocking access to the hotel one, so I had to contact reception and wait while they opened it. They did eventually open it after I called. Why should a guest have to use a private paid car park when the hotel has its own? Staff handled this poorly. Guests need clearer information about it.
