In my 20 years as an experienced chef, I've never seen shortcuts like this for premium prices. The €17 breakfast came with 2 small sausages, 2 slices of bacon, 1 egg, 1 black pudding, 1 white pudding, tea, and a choice of “chips or toast.” Everything was microwaved. The ramekin was roasting, but the beans inside were freezing, and the egg was hard on the bottom and congealed on top. The bacon was pale and like leather. The Hard boiled egg down the road serves a much better breakfast for the same price. Honestly, this wasn't worth a tenner, and it's an insult to both customers and service staff. It didn't feel like hotel “dining,” just minimum effort and maximum profit. I also observed main dinners being microwaved. If that happened in another hotel where I've worked, the HSE would shut it down, with no clear temperature control or adherence to HACCP regulations. Embarrassing for the chef and team. If my career got to the point where I genuinely didn't give a shit, I'd quit.

We haven't stayed at the hotel, but we've eaten there many times. The food is terrific and great value, and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. My family and I love eating here, especially my two nephews.

We found the location ideal, and our comfortable, cozy room was clean and looked over the charming town square. Staff were pleasant and helpful, and the full Irish breakfast and coffee were superb. The adjoining bar-lounge was well stocked. Jacinta was the best part of all, such a delightful, kind and helpful staff member.
