Fresh seafood was the highlight of our holiday meals. The staff made sure we were comfortable and were so welcoming. Such a good find, but book ahead. If seafood’s your thing, make a stop here.

The seafood tasted really fresh, and the crab and lobster were well priced. It’s a cozy spot with a lovely atmosphere, kind staff, and delicious food. Definitely recommend it if you’re nearby.

After a couple of days in town eating meals that mostly disappointed us, this place turned things around. The portions were generous and the food was excellent, with lots of fresh fish to choose from at reasonable prices. Roast beef was €20, steak €33, and fish ran from €23 to €37. Starters, including tempura prawns and pâté, were about €10. A really good meal, and I’d happily return.

The Union Hall haddock and fish pie were every bit as good as the starters: Clonakilty Puddings terrine, goat’s cheese, and calamari that was among the freshest and best I’ve had. We spent around €45 each with a bottle of wine. We hadn’t booked, but the man in charge found us a table, joking that we’d need plenty of money and our house deeds. That set the mood for a relaxed, friendly evening full of banter. Another lovely visit to west Cork, and a perfect evening.

The black sole, served on the bone, was outstanding, and the service was attentive. It had a quiet, local feel on a Monday night. One of the best meals I had during a month touring Ireland. Lovely ☺️
