Coleman Court Summer Accommodation

I couldn't have asked for a better place to spend my time abroad in Cork. I lived at Coleman Court for three months during my summer internship at UCC and had the best time. Right in the city centre, it's an easy 15 to 20 minute walk to college. The modern, spacious apartment had a king-size bed, a small workspace, a bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen corner. The Wi-Fi was super fast, and there were USB-A and USB-C chargers. The fitness studio was in perfect condition, and there was a shared study room. My favourite was the cinema room, with Disney Plus included at no charge. The reception staff, mostly students themselves, were very friendly and helpful.

The constant noise from the bathroom ventilation disturbed us during our stay. If they sort that out, this could be an ideal place. The room was clean, and the hotel has a 24-hour reception, a lovely lounge with a coffee machine, a quiet library for studying and a gym. It's also very well located near the city centre.

The apartment layout is brilliant, and the city-centre location puts you close to all amenities. The reception staff were friendly and helpful with all the important information. Coleman Court is a must for the accommodation list if you have a student heading to college.

The room was filthy, the bed was easily the most uncomfortable I've ever slept in, and the walls were so thin we couldn't rest with all the noise. There was mold in the silicone around the sink and shower, sticky floors that clearly hadn't been cleaned, and sheets that looked unchanged. They didn't even provide basics like soap or shampoo. Staff were rude and acted like they wanted to get rid of us as fast as possible. We arrived at 3:00 PM in pouring rain, but the room wasn't ready. The receptionist first asked us to wait 10 minutes. When that passed, I was told another 20 to 30 minutes. We waited about 45 minutes in total before getting the room card. For what we paid, that was unacceptable. If they don't have enough cleaners, they should hire more, especially given the money they're making. It's shocking to see this place rated over 8 out of 10. I can only assume those reviews are misleading. Don't be fooled by the score. Stay only if you have absolutely no other choice. Otherwise, avoid it at all costs.
