As an international student, moving away from home was hard, but the welcoming atmosphere at Curraheen Point made the change much easier. Manager Sanda deserves a special thank you. She was kind, easy to approach and always ready to help, and she truly cares about the residents. Her warmth made me feel supported and at home, even far from my family. I'd recommend Curraheen Point to students looking for safe, comfortable, well-managed accommodation in Cork. It's also a chic place to live.

The staff, especially Sanda and Jamie, go out of their way to support residents and make the place feel like home. I've found Nido Curraheen Point safe, welcoming and well managed, with a respectful community and a generally peaceful atmosphere for studying or relaxing. The apartments are clean, hygienic and well maintained, and the shared areas are tidy and easy to use. Staff are friendly and approachable, and maintenance requests get handled efficiently, so minor problems are sorted quickly. It's been a very positive experience, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for comfortable, supportive accommodation in Cork.

The staff are all friendly and helpful, and my lovely roommates are another highlight. It's a quiet place in a peaceful area, and maintenance has been good. Any problem I've had was resolved promptly. The space is clean, and we take turns keeping the kitchen area clean and sweeping the hallway. That arrangement has worked out fine.

The receptionist, who is the manager's assistant, was very friendly and helpful. The location is acceptable too, with a bus stop six minutes away and a taxi to the city centre costing about €10. But I can't recommend staying here or imagine returning. We paid about €1,000 for 14 days, and at that price I expected basic standards and at least fresh towels and a toilet and shower clean. None of that happened. At 12:30 a.m. I got a message saying fresh towels cost extra. The apartment was dirty throughout: hairs in the shower, a sticky stain on the bed, mold in the freezer, a filthy oven, and a vacuum cleaner that stank. We couldn't air out the room because the low blind blocked the left window. When I tried to darken the room, the blind fell off the ceiling. Maintenance fixed it the next day, but its chain broke the day after that, leaving the room completely dark. The freezer handle was broken off, so the compartment wouldn't open. Maintenance had no fix and told us to pry it open with a spoon for the next two weeks. The oven was barely usable, tripping the fuse every five minutes when we tried to bake a simple pizza. There were two microwaves, but one was just sitting on a cabinet taking up space and didn't work. There didn't seem to be a night receptionist or security on site. A loud party ran from 11 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. on the night of July 9th to 10th. People talked and laughed loudly all night, and sleeping was impossible. If it happened again that night, I was going to have to call the police. The place is noisy generally, and overhead planes flew from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Because of the heat we had to leave the window tilted open, which made the noise worse.

The estate is very quiet, and the accommodation itself is good. It's a 15-minute walk to Cork University Hospital, 15 minutes to the UCC Western Gateway Building and 17 minutes to Mardyke Sports Centre. There are campus accommodations nearby, so visiting friends there is easy. The bedroom and kitchen are a good size, but the toilets are small and the water pressure is a bit weak. Grocery shops are unfortunately a little far away, and there's no gym.
