Fiddle + Bow Hotel

We really enjoyed the food at Russell’s, especially the oysters and lamb, and had great French toast at breakfast each day. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. A note if you’re assigned room 209: you can hear the kitchen closing downstairs and guests outside the take-away/coffee shop. There was plenty of banging and doors opening and closing. We didn’t feel there was a reason to complain, since that’s part of closing a kitchen and I wouldn’t expect staff to tiptoe around. Just sharing so others know what to expect.

After a tense late-night drive from Dingle, we were glad to arrive at Fiddle and Bow and be welcomed by Caroline at the front desk. She was cheerful, lovely, and very helpful. If you have to drive to Doolin at night, stay here, and have dinner at Russel’s. We just made it to a table at the hotel restaurant before closing. The menu leans toward seafood, but I took our waiter David’s suggestion and ordered the lamb shank. It was absolutely worth it. The room had a handwritten welcome note and two homemade brownies for a late snack. The bed and pillow firmness suited me perfectly, though that’s personal. Hotel, restaurant, room, and staff all get 10+ from us.

The restaurant and pub were wonderful, with lovely decor and amazing food, and the staff were warm, friendly, and very helpful. We spent two nights at the Inn and wished we could have stayed longer. Leaving was hard. We’ve traveled all over the world for work and recently toured the Irish countryside for two weeks, staying in some great places. This was easily our favorite. The Inn is beautiful, with spacious, clean, modern rooms that still feel rustic and country-like. The amenities and little details were great. It had everything we wanted from an Irish inn on Ireland’s west coast.

They left us a sweet note and brownies, and the complimentary breakfast was incredible. This was easily one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. Such a great experience, I’d highly recommend it.
