We had the set three-course lunch and thought the food was good quality and great value. The Guinness was perfect too. We didn't stay overnight, so I can't comment on the rooms.

Joe, the night porter, was great to chat with at the bar in the evening after a long day. I stayed at The Downings Bay Hotel two weeks ago and enjoyed every part of it. The room was perfect, and the restaurant was delicious. I hope I get to return and experience this family-run hotel again.

On a lovely sunny morning, our large group stopped in Downings for scones and coffee while passing through on our bikes. Sarah, Joan, and all the team took wonderful care of us. It's a glorious spot with a fabulous hotel, and we look forward to coming back!

We stayed for two nights on October 5th and 6th. It was quiet while we were there, though our server Angela said the place is rocking in summer. The hotel is nicely appointed and the food was good.

The friendly staff made both lunches we had at Downings Bay this week even better. It was warm and cosy, and the food was excellent. I'd highly recommend it.
