Abbey Hotel Dublin

The staff were efficient, warm, and welcoming, and we’d definitely return. We found a little gem in the heart of the city. Our triple room was basic but very comfortable and immaculately clean, with everything we needed. They’d even left bottled water, toothbrush and toothpaste sets, and slippers. There was a kettle, coffee machine with pods, and a hairdryer in the room, plus charging ports in the sockets.

The location is very central, but there’s a techno nightclub right below the hotel playing the same beat until 3 am, and it’s incredibly loud. Forget getting any sleep. If you’re here to party, get hammered, and pass out, it might not bother you, but anyone wanting a decent night’s rest should avoid this place. The rooms were average, clean and tidy but small and basic. The customer service was friendly, though I waited nearly 15 minutes at reception while they were busy, maybe they were understaffed.

The staff were nice, and the rooms and bathroom were very clean and tidy when I stayed in February. The low water pressure made showering uncomfortable, though. We also had to ring the bell every time to get into the hotel, which felt uncomfortable given Dublin at night.

The staff were really welcoming, and the location is handy for the city center, Luas, and other public transport. I stayed a few weeks ago to meet friends. The room was nice and the bed very comfortable, though I missed having a TV and expected one for the price. We walked past the hotel a couple of times before spotting it, so a bigger sign would help. I’d recommend it for a short stay, maybe 1-2 nights.
