Celtic Lodge Guesthouse - Restaurant & Bar

We had a baby with us and were surprised by how spacious the room felt, with enough room for our things and the pram. The breakfast was included and delicious, and the women making it were incredible. All the staff were lovely, especially the cleaning staff, who were so friendly. The location was amazing for exploring dublin. Given the price, my expectations were low, but the quality was a real surprise. The staff made the stay much better than I expected. I'll definitely stay here again when I visit dublin. Highly recommended.

The location is excellent, close to everything. The rooms are very small and not particularly new, though ours was super clean. The TV didn't work for the first two days. Service throughout the hotel was great, from the helpful, friendly receptionists to the kind breakfast cafeteria workers who made you feel at home.

The music was unbelievably loud, and the front desk wouldn't help. This was on a Tuesday night. I added a video so you can hear what came through into my room. The pub downstairs doesn't need to amplify the music in such a small space, and putting a mic on a drum that shakes the whole room is definitely not okay.

I booked Celtic Lodge Dublin because its website promised flexible date changes. After they had my payment, that flexibility wasn't there. I emailed well ahead to change my dates, but the manager later said he'd only eventually found my message. By then, I'd been charged in full for three nights and they refused to make the change. He blamed a spam folder, but managing that isn't the guest's responsibility, and it doesn't justify missing a clear request. Travelers dealing with changing plans, flights, and arrangements across countries need basic responsiveness and a genuine effort to sort problems fairly. I got rigid policies and no willingness to put things right. I can't recommend Celtic Lodge. Guests deserve clear, reliable terms; confirm any date changes in writing before booking, or pick somewhere that delivers the flexibility it advertises.
