Cornerville

We only spent one night at this lovely B&B, and I’d recommend staying longer to enjoy Howth and Dublin. Howth is a characterful harbour town with good food, and there’s a nearby train that takes you to Dublin. Andy and Helen were wonderful hosts, and breakfast was great. Andy shared a glass of wine and some good stories with us. We’d happily stay again.

Andy made us feel at home at Cornerville, and even drove us to nearby Howth harbor. We had the freshest fish and chips and Irish Seafood Chowder at @BloodyStream. He’s a terrific B&B host. His sweet Yorkies, Maggie and May, also helped us miss our dogs back home a little less. Our twin room was so comfortable, with a warm duvet on each bed and Irish linen sheets. There were coffee, tea, mints and biscuits waiting for us. Andy cooked and served a full Irish breakfast with a lovely traditional table setting. What a treat! Thank you, Andy. Andy was kind and welcoming, and made a great croissant. My husband and I had a great two-night stay. The room was spacious, with a little peek of the ocean. The heat was kept a bit low, but there were plenty of covers to keep warm. Dog lovers will like that he has two Yorkies. I’d stay again if I’m back in the area. For a trip into Dublin, Andy suggested taking the train, and that worked much better for us. There’s free parking at Howth station, and the ride downtown took about 30 minutes. We took a taxi the first day and waited 15 - 20 minutes just to be picked up, then used the train the next day.

Cornerville was a lovely stay. Howth is such a beautiful part of Dublin, with cute restaurants and a great cliff walk. Our room was huge and very clean, and Andy was a hilarious, helpful host. Breakfast had lots of variety and was delightful. The train from Howth to Dublin city centre takes only about 25 minutes, so you can leave the car behind instead of dealing with parking and driving in the city. I’d really recommend this B&B if you’re staying around Dublin.
