The staff were friendly, and the gym looked decent, but we didn’t feel comfortable there. The halls smelled of body odor, the kitchen was messy, and we had to use cutlery left by previous tenants. There were hairs in the bathroom and stains in the room from earlier student residents. The bed was cramped for two, there were no hangers, and the air conditioning didn’t work. The window gave no privacy, so getting daylight meant being visible. Towels cost €3.50 to rent, and there were no bath mats. At €170 or more a night, we expected some basic comforts. We chose it because the other places were really expensive, but this didn’t feel affordable either. Don’t expect standard hotel amenities.

The location was a big plus for us, and the room cost about 90 euros, or 105 USD, which seemed reasonable beside airport and downtown options priced at $300 or more. We were in Dublin for a 17-hour overnight layover and just needed somewhere to rest before an early departure. Check-in was easy, and the staff at reception were kind and helpful. They’d also sent useful information in advance, including local activities and bus details. They’re upfront that rooms are very basic, and you can bring your own towels or rent them for 3 euros. We appreciated the clear communication. Other simple toiletries were available if requested at reception. We were happy with our stay and would recommend it for a layover or a short trip, especially if you plan to spend most of your time out in the city or nearby.

The room was practical, with enough shelves and light, and the price felt fair. It’s handy for Dublin City center, which is why we chose it. We stayed three nights, but longer stays could make good use of the shared kitchen and dining area, with a fridge and microwave. The laundry on site cost a little less than our first hotel or a laundromat, though the weak dryer meant spending a few extra euros. They do stick to check-in and checkout times, although the woman let us in about half an hour early. Bring your own supplies. Reception has free soap, shampoo, coffee, ear plugs and laundry detergent. Towels weren’t in the room, but when I asked at reception they gave me two. There was a sign listing a towel price, though I’m not sure whether that meant a charge to keep them.

The staff were extremely friendly and did their best to sort out problems, and the gym was a surprisingly nice feature. The facilities are good, and the basic rooms have what you need for a couple of days in town. The kitchens always looked clean, though I didn’t use one. They still seem to be working out how to operate as a hotel, so delays and things not going right on the first try are to be expected. If comfort is what you’re after, I’d choose somewhere else. But if convenience and a low price matter more and you can wait a couple of hours for your room, this could suit you.

The bed was on the small side, perhaps 140 or 120, and the shared kitchen was dirty, broken and neglected. Its kettle looked like it was from the 80s, with mold on it, and seemed dangerous. You’re not allowed to eat or drink in the rooms, which is odd. Amenities are at reception, and there’s just one towel included. You have to pay for extras. There’s no AC, and they offer a fan for a €20 deposit, which felt like blackmail to me. Cheap hotels can be like this, I guess, but the noise made it hard to rest. Construction sounds went on until well after midnight the first night. Then at 8am every morning there was awful banging outside, maybe construction or a generator or something else. I couldn’t keep the window shut because the room got so hot without AC. A hotel has to let you get proper rest, and this made me miserable.
