Both the green and red line trams meet at the north end of the bridge, so it’s a handy central spot for getting around the city. This is one of the most iconic bridges over the liffey, and tour buses often drop people off here. The bridge itself is almost a perfect square, which is a curious detail.

The river view from O’Connell Bridge is lovely, and I had fun watching the seagulls circling overhead 😍. It’s a great place in the middle of Dublin to stop for a moment and soak up the city atmosphere.

Walking up the middle of O'Connell Street gave me a good look at the monuments. The Spire towers over the rest, and when it was first installed it was called an underground cathedral. Dublin humour at its best. A very historic spot.

The sights were pretty, but our walk back to the hotel after a concert turned bitter. A woman attacked and intimidated us at night while the police were literally 10 meters away and didn’t react at all. We had to take shelter in a souvenir shop, and she was still there. She faced no repercussions.

From the bridge, the river and the surrounding landscape make a peaceful, beautiful scene. I love watching the water flow gently and reflect the sky. It’s a lovely vantage point that invites you to stop and take in the calm and natural beauty.
