Four Courts Hostel

Temple Bar is about a five minute walk away, and public transport is close too. For the price and value in this part of town, I don’t think there’s a better option. The room was good, but the so-called quiet room smelled bad. Breakfast was very basic, though the staff seemed nice. As with any hostel, who you share with will shape the stay. It’s a nice place in central Dublin.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and a decent size. They also had computers with internet that were handy for planning my trip. The bathrooms were the weak spot. They were clean, but the shower drains clogged and left standing water, some faucets stuck down and kept running, and the toilet often wouldn’t flush. Those things were possible to work around, and overall it was a great hostel.

The staff were great, it was easy to find, and parking was convenient. It was my first hostel stay, pretty much what I expected. My 18 year old daughter and I shared a six person room and felt safe. One guy kept getting up during the night to smoke in the bathroom, which was annoying, and there was mildew in a corner of the bathroom ceiling. Breakfast didn’t offer much beyond cereal and toast. Even with those downsides, I’d stay again.

A pretty okay hostel. The staff and other guests were friendly, and the rooms and bathrooms were clean. The public bathrooms, though, were often really unpleasant to walk into. I wish they were cleaned more than once a day. Breakfast wasn’t for me, though plenty of other people seemed to like it. The kitchen is very good and great for cooking.
