Harding Hotel

In Dublin’s medieval district, this is a great choice. The rooms are clean and spacious. Downstairs, the pub serves tasty food and a broad range of drinks, including beers, ales, and ciders from its own brewery. There’s live music every night, plus a breakfast spot you can reach from inside.

The staff made our trip, especially while I was arranging a proposal. They handled everything I asked for and went above and beyond. During the lively St. Patrick’s celebration outside, they also took hotel security seriously, which we appreciated. They shared helpful recommendations, offered free secure luggage storage, explained the best ways to get around, and were quick and accommodating in all our communications. The Harding was our base for St. Patrick’s 2026. The rooms were a bit dated, but the staff are the reason this gets five stars.

The Harding Hotel on Fishamble St., Dublin was an ideal base for our first visit, and we’d book it again if we return. It’s reasonably priced, well located, and the service is impeccable. The rooms are quiet despite the lively, well-regarded pub downstairs. There’s also Copper Alley, an excellent bistro/restaurant on site, with some of the best coffee we’ve had and a very affordable classic Irish breakfast. Most of Dublin’s significant historic sites are an easy walk away. Our room was small but clean and comfortable. I’d have liked more shelves and a few hooks, but that’s a minor quibble. This may sound like the hotel wrote it, but I swear I’m just some guy from Kentucky who appreciates a well-run place. Anyway, try the Harding😉

The room was spacious and the bed really comfortable. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, especially at the front desk. From here it’s easy to explore Dublin on foot or catch a bus or tour bus, and it’s also easy to get to the airport. We couldn’t have asked for a better two-night stay.
