Back in 2007, I spent two nights at this hostel with my best friends. It was disgusting, but also one of the best drunken nights I've ever had. Long live Harrington hostel. I hope you stay dirty forever. Don't change a thing!

The location was a real plus: a few minutes on foot from Griffith College, and about 20 minutes from the city centre. The WiFi worked well, and it was probably the best-priced hostel nearby. The mattress was only somewhat comfortable, though, and the place was poorly soundproofed. Hot water was available only from 6-10 in the morning and evening. I hadn't realized breakfast was offered, but it was just toast and two kinds of jam.

The church just across the street was a lovely view, day or night, and the street itself felt calm. Temple Bar and O'Connell Street were each about a 10-minute walk away. Our room was very clean, and the staff were kind and accommodating. We had a very good stay.

We mostly came back to the hostel at night after spending the days exploring Dublin, so the low price and good location worked well for us. It's close to the centre but in a quiet area. The woman who welcomed us was very nice, and there was a cute little puppy that year who she let us pet. They gave us a map and helpful transport information, too. For my first time in Dublin, our three-night stay in October 2016 was pretty good. Our four-bed room had two bunk beds and its own bathroom. It was basic but clean, and we slept okay despite hearing people next door through the thin walls. Breakfast was included and simple, with juice, bread, butter, cereal, milk, jam, coffee, tea, and water. That suited me fine, and the dining room felt cozy. The price was cheap compared with other hostels, so we knew not to expect much. I think you could rent bikes there, too.

The receptionist was reeeeeally helpful, and I felt at home in a clean, comfortable place. It's fairly close to the city centre, with a good airport connection: Bus 16 goes door to door. There's also a kitchen, though I only found out I could use it on my last day. My room had a wide wardrobe. Bring your own shampoo and bath gel, since they aren't provided. Breakfast was small and could run out quickly if you weren't early. There was no hot water at night, so shower early. The heating was a bit poor, the only real downside. I left a little pair of scissors, shampoo, and bath gel at reception with a note in case someone could use them, since I couldn't take them on the flight home.
