Kadie made the stay for me. She personally walked me to my room, took the time to explain how everything worked, and gave me a thoughtful warning to be careful using the open WiFi for sensitive things. That kind of attention made it clear she cares about guests. A big thank you to Kadie. The place itself is lovely, and the whole atmosphere felt warm and welcoming from the moment I arrived. One of the nicest hotel stays I’ve had in a while. Highly recommend.

The shower barely drains, so keep the pressure low and expect to use your towels to deal with the water. It also took a while to get extra towels when we asked. That’s my only real complaint from our two nights here. My girlfriend and I enjoyed the stay, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The bar is nice, with cheap food and drinks since it’s a weatherspoons. There’s no room service, but you can order at the bar and take food or drinks upstairs. Plenty of small local restaurants are nearby too. I wish there’d been a fridge, but it’s easy enough to manage without one. The hotel is one of the cheaper options in Dublin, about a 15 to 20 minute walk from St Stephens Green and Grafton Street. I’d gladly stay again.

We really liked the space and location, and the hotel breakfast was great. The lobby bar area is lovely too. But after we asked to have the sofa bed made, we came back from dinner to find blood all over the bed, including the pillows, pillowcases, sheets and comforter. It had also dripped onto the bed that was already there. The shower wouldn’t drain, and with three of us we had to stop the water while lathering just to cope. Even with those issues, we had a really nice stay and enjoyed the place.

We liked the free coffee in the mornings, and the room was in good condition overall, but there were quite a few problems. The staff were friendly but not well informed. We spoke with several people and got conflicting answers. The shower diverter didn’t work, so the shower ran whenever the water was on, and the water lever fell off. To their credit, they fixed those things the next day. The temperature control didn’t work either. The window wouldn’t open, leaving the room damp, and that was never addressed. When I brought it up at checkout, the gentleman apologized and shrugged. The safe was terrible and didn’t work, and looked like something bought off Temu. The blow dryer kept shutting off from overheating. Our friends also had trouble getting their room cleaned. They put the service card on the doorknob, but it took two days for anyone to come. These issues could all be fixed with a bit of motivation. I booked based on the high Expedia reviews, and would recommend the hotel if you’re mindful of possible shortcomings.

The location is great and the renovation looks good. The restaurant and bar seemed busy and good value, though we didn’t eat or drink there. That’s about all I can say positively. We paid a premium price for very sub-par service, and wouldn’t have minded the cost-cutting if the price had reflected it. It’s the ‘Ryanair of hotels’. My fiancé and I stayed four nights in early March, a week before St. Paddy’s Day. We hadn’t realized it was a Wetherspoons hotel, and it wasn’t cheap. Check-in was later than advertised. The sheets were stained and the floors dirty, and by then it was too late to ask for another room. The room wasn’t serviced the next evening, even though we’d left at a reasonable time that morning. Reception said we needed to put the ‘please service my room’ card on the handle. It had been hidden, nobody told us about it at check-in, and there was nothing about it in the room instructions. The wet-room bathroom didn’t drain properly, so we needed towels to mop up the water. Nobody apologized for the communication problem. The next day we put the card out by 10am, but again the room wasn’t cleaned. Staff just shrugged and seemed not to care. We had to ask twice for fresh towels that night, then the following day we had to ask again for towels and basic supplies we’d run out of.
