We stayed at Kilronin House during a Dublin trip last summer and really enjoyed it. It's a traditional Georgian-style house with modern conveniences, and the staff were friendly and made sure we had what we needed. Breakfast was delicious, and they kept our coffee topped up. The location worked well too. There are green spaces nearby, including St. Stephen's Green, and the Luas stop is just around the corner. Grafton street is an easy 10-minute walk, or Trinity College takes about 20 minutes on foot.

It's a small boutique hotel, away from the tourist spots, which also makes the area quieter. The tram is about a five-minute walk and gets you to the sights quickly, and a couple of pubs are walkable too. Our room was small but clean, nice, and had what we needed. Breakfast is made to order with table service, a lovely way to start the day. One snag: they say they'll help with luggage, but we ended up carrying most of ours.

For my first night on a solo trip around the UK and Ireland, I chose this place. It stretched my accommodation budget a bit, but was worth every penny. The value is incredible, honestly they could charge more. I arrived too early to check in after a day and a half of travel. They let me sit in the sitting room and brought me a tea tray, which was so kind I could've cried. The staff were wonderful, my room was lovely and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. I'd absolutely stay again and recommend it to everyone I know.

The location made getting around easy, with the city centre about a 15-minute walk away and the tram and buses handy for going further. It's far enough out to be quieter, but close enough that getting back and forth doesn't take long. We only had one night in Dublin and would definitely return to Kilronan. We had a top-floor en suite room, tastefully decorated, with a modern bathroom. Service was great, and the concierge gave us useful local tips. Breakfast had plenty of choice, and my Eggs Royale was cooked perfectly.

The service and management are hard to overstate. Everyone is attentive without hovering, generous with luggage storage, and happy to offer advice when asked. And there always seems to be more tea. It's also scrupulously clean, which adds a lot to the comfort. This is my preferred Dublin base, a lovely, well-run boutique hotel with surprising value. The service, food, and amenities are a quality that almost shocks me by North American standards. The Luas is a block away for rainy days, but the central location also makes walking around the city easy and pleasant. Breakfast is a great option, and the parlor off the dining room is a quiet place to get complimentary tea or coffee at any hour. The rooms are beautifully decorated, with comfortable beds and bedding. There can be minor noise from people on the stairs now and then, but almost no street noise, and the curtains completely block outside light. Hotel rooms in global cities are smaller than many North Americans may be used to, though the layout is comfortable unless you're carrying an outrageously oversized bag. Heritage buildings can make plumbing updates tricky, but the showers are a reasonable size, with familiar fixtures and hot water right away. The rest of the bathrooms are easy and comfortable to use. Because of the building's age and layout, I can't recommend it to anyone needing an accessible room. The stairs could be difficult or impossible for people using mobility aids. Otherwise, it's an ideal cozy, friendly place to return to after work or exploring. 10/10, no notes.
