Kingfisher Townhouse

We were very happy with the stay. The place is comfortable, reasonably priced, and in a great location, with good communication too. The restaurant downstairs is excellent. I had fish and chips one night and chicken pot pie the next, both very good, with great service.

Thursday 26th March 2026. My son and I had lunch here today. We both ordered fresh salmon with mashed spuds, roasted veg, capers, and a lovely white sauce. Luca and another lovely waitress served us. We've eaten here many times over the years, so although we waited a while, we didn't mind because we knew it would be good. The food was amazing, freshly cooked and nice and hot. My son had a couple of glasses of milk, and I had a drink. It's worth the price. We enjoyed the meal and the staff were so nice. 10 outta 10.

My wife and I both loved it. We ordered chowder, fish and chips, and the special chicken pie. The chowder was creamy and full of flavor, and the pie surprised us with both its quality and portion size. The fish was the standout, with light, crunchy batter and such a big piece that we couldn't finish it.

I never stayed at the hotel, so someone who has might be able to comment on that. For food, though, this is the best fish and chips in Dublin. Maybe I'm biased, living in this lovely city, but I still remember buying a bag of chips when I was young and taking the bus home with it. The staff are lovely, it's just off OConnell street in the centre, and there are plenty of other dishes too. Some portions are big.
